Course Description:
Near beautiful Lake Simcoe in prime cottage country, this Robert Heaslip
designed, executive-length course has become a popular family-fun
destination.
The pride of Willow Greens
are its greens. Built to USGA specifications, with lots of roll, these
large greens are kept in immaculate condition. Strategically-placed water
hazards and sand bunkers full of Ohio white sand provide lots of short
game practice. With two par fours you will likely use every club in your
bag.
Regulars to the course agree
the 2nd and 5th holes are the course's most challenging. Water is a major
player on the par four 270 yard 2nd, where a large pond sits just left of
the landing area on the slight dogleg right. Those wanting to cut the
dogleg risk landing in one of the two bunkers just beyond. The safe play
is to lay-up at the corner, setting up a short iron to the green.
The 5th is a long fairway
with a 90-degree dogleg to the right. No less than five sand traps greet
you from the corner of the dogleg to the front and rear of the green.
Water borders the fairway all the way to the dogleg on the left side and
cuts across your path twice before you get to the green.
